alterant history stuffffffffffffffff....?

answers1: Either way is fine, "alternate or alternative history." Both
terms are correct. There are several authors who write alternative
history novels like Harry Turtledove. Check him out.
As for enjoyment. Well its just fun to ponder the "what if?"
-logically speaking, there could be several futures depending on the
actions that you take. Like what if Julius Cesar hadn't become an
emperor? Your imagination could go anywhere with "what if."
answers2
: For every winner in History - for example Stalin - there's
always a loser (in Stalin's case,Trotsky).Alternative history examines
the 'what if..?' of history, and what the results might have been if
different decisions or actions had been taken by various people at
different times in history. This can help us understand cause and
effect much more clearly in terms of historical events, and helps us
learn from mistakes by looking at alternative policies and how they
may have worked out.
A good example would be the policy of appeasement in Europe in the
1930s.This policy,when examined with hindsight,clearly encouraged
rather than deterred the likes of Hitler and Mussolini. So,after WW2
the West stood up to for example the Soviet Union,North Korea in the
Korean War,Milosevic in Yugoslavia and so on.
