Why does the left grant 155 million tax dollars to the National Endowment for Humanities?
answers1: You mad?
answers2: You have to put these numbers in perspective. The US has a
population of 300 million people, so the cost for the endowment for
the arts comes out to 50 cents for each US citizen. The same is true
of Solyndra - a drop in the bucket. <br>
<br>
The real budget issues are the tax cuts for the rich and the wars in
the Middle East. The debt accumulated as a result comes to $50,000 per
US citizen. <br>
<br>
But hey let's whine about the 50 cents per citizen cost of funding
arts, rather than the $50,000 per citizen debt caused by wars and tax
cuts for the rich.
answers3: Doubt that dollars to the NEH are as useless as they say.
The program started in 1965 with only a 5.9 million budget, but grew
to 177 million under the first Bush presidency, and has been declining
since then.
answers4: Pork? Like the Republican Bridge to Nowhere? You really
think the right doesn't love port? ROTFLOL! <br>
<br>
I'd rather give to the National Endowment for Humanities, which gives
out scholarships. <br>
<br>
##
answers5: Many reasons, but the economic reason is that there's a
major return on that investment. <br>
<br>
Look it up. "Multiplier effect - investment in the Arts." <br>
<br>
Enjoy!

Science without humanities would lead to further war. Explain with examples in detail.?
answers1: Science without humanities would lead to further war.
Explain with examples in detail.? <br>
<br>
~~~ Science works in 'labs', studies stuff, makes hypotheses and tests
them... No one gets killed except in an accident! True science is
apolitical, and has no beliefs to defend and propagate! <br>
War and most other human 'atrocities' are the result of 'beliefs'
(religion), not science! The 'true believers' use the findings of
science to their advantage against the
heathen/unbelievers/Communists/whoever believes differently...
answers2: This is demonstrably fallacious as a non sequitur and/or as
affirming the consequent. <br>
<br>
Science is an epistemological method and war is the result of human
behavior. <br>
<br>
As an epistemological method science does not in any way directly
apply to war categorically speaking. <br>
<br>
Rather that as a result of human behavior science(or more accurately
technologies resulting in the application of science) is used to
develop tools that can come to be exploited for use in warfare. <br>
<br>
However the suggestion that science, without humanities would lead to
further war is not logically consistent considering that science is
defined as an epistemological methodology. <br>
As such science is within the category of humanities as it relates to
a particular branch of philosophy, most notably epistemology. <br>
<br>
Though I do not think this was the intent of the assignment. <br>
<br>
I believe it is your task to reiterate what is already common
knowledge, that being that other branches of philosophy, politics and
ethics, offers a pragmatic means to avoid violent conflict that are
result of human nature. <br>
That is to say that politics and ethics can find solutions to problems
without reverting to the violence of outright combat, but it should
not be suggested that this is always going to be the case. <br>
For example if the agenda of one nation is to violently occupy another
nation, then it seems reasonable that the nation that is the target
for occupation has an imperative to combat an invasion with what
violence is necessary to prevent its culture from being destroyed or
conquered by the oppressive or genocidal agenda of an invading
aggressive nations military. <br>
<br>
<br>
For this reason it seems like a B.S. assignment to me. <br>
<br>
Just saying.
Is a political science class a social science or humanities?
answers1: Aprille Ericsson? No person in an anthropology
classification instructed you all cultures are the same, so i do know
you're full of s###. Additionally, it's essential that the individuals
who design stuff that shoppers use have some indistinct clue about
what these buyers might be taken with.
answers2: what a good question
answers3: The humanities are academic disciplines that study the human
condition, using methods that are primarily analytical, critical, or
speculative, as distinguished from the mainly empirical approaches of
the natural sciences. <br>
<br>
The humanities include ancient and modern languages, literature,
history, philosophy, religion, and visual and performing arts such as
music and theatre. The humanities that are also regarded as social
sciences include history, anthropology, area studies, communication
studies, cultural studies, law and linguistics. <br>
<br>
Social science is the field of study concerned with society and human
behaviors. "Social science" is commonly used as an umbrella term to
refer to a plurality of fields outside of the natural sciences. These
include: anthropology, archaeology, criminology, economics, education,
history, linguistics, communication studies, political science and
international relations, sociology, geography, law, and
psychology.[1][2]
answers4: I don't know a thing about it, but social is closer to
politics than humanities.
Wheres a good art school????
answers1: school of the art institute in chicago, like the other guy
said. almost everyone i know who wants to go to art school wants to go
there. <br>
also RISD-rhode island school of design is really good.
answers2: Check out Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA. I
have been getting my MFA in figurative painting there. They offer the
same degrees online as they have on campus (which is what I'm doing,
since I live so far away!), and they are properly accredited. They
have a great Illustration department, with professors that have worked
in the industry for many years. Their website is: <br>
<br>
http://www.academyart.edu
answers3: I would highly recommend CalArts and RISDY
answers4: The School of the Art Institute of Chicago is considered one
of (if not the) best art school in the country. <br>
<br>
btw it's art college not collage, lol!
answers5: Check out the main website for the Art Institutes. They're
pretty good, and they will help you find the school that best fits
your interests. California is buzzling with job opportunities, but the
competition is very high. I chose to go to an art school on the east
coast (it's a little calmer). But it all depends on what you like. Do
you like warm weather? Cold weather? Big cities? Beautiful campuses?
Do you even want to study in the U.S? I studied marble sculpture in
Florence, Italy last year. There are so many opportunies and different
directions that you can go in! Good luck! -Abigail
answers6: RINGLING. <br>
ITS IN FLORIDA
answers7: <a href="http://www.maxthemutt.com/"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>http://www.maxthemutt.com/</a> this is the
school I go to and I'm a huge advocate of it. It focuses on good
foundational drawing skills, the first year has 9 hours of life
drawing a week alone. I'm in the Classical animation program, but they
have a sequential arts program as well. <br>
It's a very hard core school, all of the teachers have worked in the
industry yet are very personable. I've had teachers take personal time
on a number of occasions to help me with difficulties I've been
having, and my animation teacher even offered the students with
high-passes free animation lessons on her own time. <br>
The most important thing in finding a school is finding one that
suits your personality. Everybody learns in a different way, some like
to take their time, others like myself work best under pressure. Good
luck finding one that suits you, I found this school when I was
searching for an animation program just by requesting information
packages from all the schools I could find online.
what makes art, art?
answers1: My definition of art is "anything in a frame" - such as Andy
Warhol putting a Campbell's soup can in a frame. When someone does
that, it invites the viewer to look at an everyday object in a new and
abstract way - like a cylinder with red, white and gold designs.
Theoretically, anything that is presented out of its environment for
public consideration can be considered art. That doesn't make it good
art, just a basic artistic statement. <br>
<br>
Also, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There's lots of things I
think are "bad" art that I don't get at all, yet they get displayed in
galleries and museums. <br>
<br>
When a work of art is termed "great" it's because most people admire
it plus it gets critical acclaim - like the Mona Lisa.
answers2: Art is form communicating meaning. <br>
<br>
It is also form that holds correspondence to reality and communicates
a relevant and true meaning. <br>
<br>
If you paint a flower just to be decorative, while it is artistic in a
basic sense, it is not art by virtue of intention. <br>
<br>
The form of a flower has everything to do with the flowers niche in
nature and its own existence. Its beauty is a suggestion of its
perfect correspondence to its environment by which it occurs as life.
<br>
<br>
If a flower were shaped like a rock, its function would be different
and it wouldn't be a flower. <br>
<br>
A rock however is attractive when it is smooth and round, because it
occurs as a feature of a freestone stream which is an idyllic setting
for life. <br>
<br>
The relationship between a child and a parent is a beautiful
demonstration of strength condescending to weakness to bring it up to
the level of strength. <br>
<br>
The artist is the person who recognizes these moments of profound
significance in the progress of life, and presents them to us in a way
that resonates with our awareness, even if our conscious knowledge is
not as elevated as that of the artist. <br>
<br>
The artist might paint a picture of a mother and children strolling
through a marketplace in Europe in the 1800s with the correct cues of
light, color, posture, etc. etc. etc. that brings to the forefront of
our mind the totality of the concept of a mother caring for and
leading and enjoying her children. <br>
<br>
While we may say these things, the artist can demonstrate them with
compelling imagery. <br>
<br>
Even the decorative flower is art, because in all things there is the
principle of life and functional meaning and therefore, although the
painter may not have a full grasp of the nature and being of the
flower, the artistic significance is implicit in the flower, and so it
still resonates with the viewer in terms of beauty vitality, delicacy,
etc. etc. etc. <br>
<br>
Art again, is a form that has in it the meaning of life.
answers3: What makes art, art is INTENT. <br>
<br>
A urinal is just a urinal, but when Marcel Duchamp signs it with a
pen, that adds intent and concept to it. It takes on whole new
meaning. <br>
answers4: What makes art, art? A coninuously evolving reaction to
human markings.
answers5: The intention of the creator.
answers6: Another vote for intent. The dividing line (art/not art) is
context. The quality of being art is not something that resides
within the actual work.
answers7: something inside of you that stimuli respond to...art is
i think wow that is really cool, then that is art.
recently where people in NY were exhibiting their art and one woman
had a bunch of dryer lint in a picture frame and another woman had a
collection of rubber bands on the cardboard core of a paper towel roll
as a sculpture she was selling for $1000? <br>
<br>
Who am I to doubt my abilities as an artist if THAT'S all I have to
compete with? I never let myself consider being an artist as an
occupation until 3 years ago when I came down w/ cancer. Now I can't
think of anything I'd rather do or anything that would be more
valuable for my family than my artwork.
answers10: it's just on the view of the person looking at an
object.And it also depends upon his mood of the person looking at the
object. <br>
But as you ask as an art ,one thing might be precious to you ,may not
be the same with all other viewers , one thinks it's disgusting and
other thinks it's marvellous. <br>
<br>
For an art maker it's good to get comments from most of the
persons, so that he can deliver wonderful things to the world. <br>
Even though no one can satisfy all the people, he can try to maximise
it to the number of people.
What is art?
answers1: Art is an expression of self; of one's emotion. It is also a
language...looking through art at various eras through time gives us a
window into the past. I love art - it's my release. The way that the
pigment blends and shapes...catches the light and creates a world of
imagination...
answers2: Art is the product of someones personal expression of their
feelings, thoughts or emotions. <br>
<br>
Pornography is meant to titillate, photography of the nude body may
titillate but is not the main objective. <br>
<br>
There are some things I'm not into, but I wouldn't ever say it's not
art. Like most public sculpture leaves me baffled, but to each his
own. I'm sure half of my work would confuse and befuddle as well.
answers3: Art is a way of life. You don't make art because you want
to--you make it because it insists upon existing.
answers4: i would argue first off that pornography is art. though some
may be totally uncreative and morally unacceptable it is still an
expression of sex and sexuality. art to me is the expression of
anything through any medium. i belief that everything in the world has
the potential be regarded as art to one person or another. In this i
mean that once one person regards something as a work of art it is a
work of art reagrdless to whether someone else disagrees or not. its
the relativity of art.
answers5: My definition of art: the creative expression of oneself
through visual, musical, or literary means, or by performance. <br>
The line between art and "non art" is not always cut and dry,
however. Pornography, for instance, exists only to sexually arouse
and serves no other purpose. Art, on the other hand, may end up
sexually arousing people but that is not its sole intent.
Michelangelo's David, for example, is believed by many to be
homoerotic(especially since the artist was gay), but for others it is
a creative portrayal of a human being contemplating the challenge
lying ahead(defeating Goliath).
answers6: art is the way you express yourself! mad, sad ,depressed art
is life its a flower. its in every person. dance, painting ,karate all
art so there you go art.that is how you find yourself,
answers7: The definitions and boundaries of art have changed just as
society has changed throughout the centuries. Art is something that is
created out of expressive intent- it is transcendent. However, I feel
many people have abused this expressive art. For instance, one
particular painter created large paintings my squirting paint out of
his anus. Another female painter created her so called "vagina
paintings"- I don't think I need to describe that. As much as I
disagree with that, they are art. They were created with expressive
intent. <br>
<br>
When it comes to the fine line between art and pornography- that
boundary has been changing for centuries. What we view as distasteful
and pornographic now, may be considered beautiful expressive art in
the future. As far as my personal definition of pornography v. art
goes; I don't think that nudes(male or female) are pornographic. I
believe that something becomes pornographic when the figures begin to
masturbate, or otherwise try to get themselves or one another off.
<br>
<br>
Hope this helps. I have a great paper written on this subject, email
me if you would like to read it.
answers8: ART in my opinion is an expression of craftsmanship in any
medium that captures the viewers attention and provokes a change in
their emotion and generates an action or reaction to such "art work".
<br>
<br>
Good or Bad- reaction can be a change for the better. <br>
<br>
Diego Rivera did murals of working class people and brought attention
to the "immigrant" causes of over a hundred years ago- his art IS
still fresh today with the recent world events. SO "art" is timeless,
since history always repeats itself. <br>
<br>
Pornography is not an art form. Photography however is. <br>
A nude is only a character in the picture, when it becomes a part of
the over all essence of the art work. Most graphic photos of sexual
poses and such are just not artistic at all. They are just tools for
perversion, like any other sexual diversion. <br>
<br>
Don't get me wrong a beautiful nude painting or photograph when
"artistic" is just as incredible as any other master piece. <br>
<br>
Breast Cancer survivor "nudes" are raw and really stir up emotions and
actions/reactions for all the right reasons! Awareness is an
awakening. Art can do that for you!
what are good business involving visual arts like drawings, paintings, etc?
answers1: Well, I enjoy teaching, so I have business cards and flyers
promoting my classes at the State University "Leisure Learning"
non-credited classes. The University promotes my classes on television
and newspapers and they get half the money. <br>
I also design websites for friends for fifty dollars. They are not
registered domains. One example is www.arr.homestead.com <br>
A lot of people ask me if I can paint a portrait of their children,
wives, pets etc.. <br>
You could create your own greeting cards or calendars and sell them
or at the very least, save yourself 3 dollars for a hallmark card
every time one of your friends have a birthday. <br>
That's about all off the top of my head, but there are great books
about the business of being an artist.
What can anyone tell me about the visual arts/photography program at Mason Gross?
answers1: Mason Gross is considered a decent art school. It's seen as
solid - not amongst the elite, but far, far from the worst. It's
totally solid. And if you're in-state NJ, it's an amazing bargain.
<br>
<br>
I can't speak specifically to their photography program.
What competitions can I enter to get awards for visual arts in Australia?
answers1: Go in search of "call to artists for Australia", art
competitions, art entry, or other places on line. There are plenty
out there. Check with your local art museums, art galleries, art
education centers, art schools, etc. Be cautious that they are
authentic, some people may just want your entry fee money. Check them
out first.
What will look good on my acting resume? Need Acting tips!?
answers1: Perform and practice! Memorize monologues in your free time
in front of the mirror. Take acting classes at a community college if
you have the funds for it. Audition in local theaters.
answers2: Always use google. It sounds silly but opportunities for
open auditions get posted all of the time especially if you live in LA
or NYC. Get classes! You need to know what to do even if you are a
natural actor screen and stage techniques and terms are important to
learn. Even being an extra is good at first. It can be super fun and
you will learn what it is like to be on camera. Next you will want to
get headshots and audition for short films. Most do not pay but they
look good on a resume will give you experience and if you love acting
it will be fun. Get a manager or an agent they will find work for you
and IF THEY ARE LEGIT THEY WILL ONLY CHARGE A PERCENTAGE OF WHAT JOBS
THEY GET YOU. Sorry to go all shouty caps on you but it is important.
look it up and find a good one near you. After this they will expand
your resume. If you get stage fright so bad you cant perform this
PS3 + HDX589W Home theater + Panasonic TV?
answers1: > Does something desire to get replaced on the television
for it to artwork?< certain, precisely. audio device desire to be
switched from inner to exterior. it truly is often executed by using
going into the on visual exhibit unit menu yet some older fashions
have a activate the again.
answers2: You bought a HT with only one HDMI in. Return it.
answers3: Bill is right. Return it & get a receiver w/ 4 HDMI inputs.
That's the problem with home theaters in a box. They are not flexible
or expandable. You'll also need 5 speakers & a sub too. May I suggest
this: <a href="http://www.crutchfield.com/p_700HTG2/Yamaha-and-Energy-Home-Theater-Bundle.html?tp=6419"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>http://www.crutchfield.com/p_700HTG2/Yam...</a>
It's considerably better than what you bought & will most likely last
you 10x longer. Because when your system breaks, it's all broken.
answers4: You are correct. Just connect HDMIs from PS3 and Home
Theater to TV for video and optical cable from PS3 to Home Theater
System for 5.1 surround sound.
for pc gaming, are home theater speakers better than speakers meant for gaming?
answers1: of course they are better. Nothing like playing Halo in
full surround sound.
answers2: Yes, Home Theater speakers will be better than computer
based speakers or mini-speakers.
answers3: I think theyre the same because both is loud,surround and
expensive.I have gaming logitech 5.1
answers4: Yes because the home speaker system are better quality in
most cases. Game speaker systems are usually cheap thats and arent
good enough to be called home theater systems.
answers5: Home theater speakers are higher fidelity. They are
engineered to accuratly reproduce every sound, whether for a game or
otherwise. Thats what I use.
answers6: Would you water your lawn with a soda-straw? <br>
<br>
Look - computer speakers are designed to give 1 person sitting at a
computer surround sound. <br>
<br>
For dorm rooms - they can also be used for a small bedroom to let you
and one other person watch movies on the computer monitor. <br>
<br>
But to fill a living room with sound so a family can watch a movie on
a TV and get theater-quality sound - computer speakers just dont have
the surface area/power to fill a room with sound. <br>
<br>
So one is not 'better' than the other - but they are built with
different users or rooms in mind.
answers7: I don't know
answers8: theater speakers r better thats y ppl go to movies <br>
DUH!
answers9: Either work. They both reproduce sound accurately. True
gamers, however, don't waste time with speakers. They get good
headsets.
answers10: Yes. Speakers designed for PC gaming are typically much
smaller in comparison with home theater speakers. Not to say that you
have to have large home theater speakers to get decent sound, there is
just quite a large difference in the quality. PC speakers to usually
intended to give the user sound for their interactions, home theater
or "surround sound" is designed to encompass the viewer in what is
going on on screen. The material doesn't matter, tv, movie, music, or
game you get a much fuller sound.
<a href="http://www.1800customersupport.com/productdocuments/RTB1013_RCA.pdf"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>http://www.1800customersupport.com/produ...</a>
answers3: If the RCA comes with a blu ray player and 5 speakers and a
sub you have what they call a home theater. Your surround sound will
only be good if you play a movie or listen to a cd. <br>
<br>
A receiver will allow you to connect any device in the home, ex.
satellite receiver, vhs, ps3 and dvd player and so on. Everything will
have s/s because it connects to the a/v receiver and then to the tv.
<br>
So anything viewed on the tv will be in s/s as long as the movie or tv
show was filmed that way. Even if it wasn't, the sound will be better
than a home theater. The cost will be more, it just depends on what
you want. <br>
<br>
Most people start with a theater in a box and upgrade later. Some
people never upgrade and enjoy what they have.
you want. <br>
Most people start with a theater in a box and upgrade later. Some
people never upgrade and enjoy what they have.
Interested in poetry?
answers1: I was good - although i couldn't read all of it (it said u
must log in to read the rest), t this thought it was good. Very
thoughtful, and a good example that not all poetry has to rhyme.
answers2: While your story is good, that's all it is. This is not a
poem. Separating sentences so that they look like poetry doesn't make
it poetry. I'm sorry to be so harsh; on a positive note, you have a
good command of imagery that would do well in story form rather than
"poetry." <br>
<br>
Hope that was helpful.
answers3: Oh my gosh.... I LOVED this. It was REALLY good and really
gets at your emotions and you can relate to it very well. I enjoyed
it:D Keep writing ;)
answers4: I read this the other day and loved it, and i still do :) <br>
The word use is good, and it's clear what the subject is.
What would you call poetry?
answers1: I call poetry...well...poetry...but if you want something
deeper and profound...ask the next guy : )
answers2: Something that makes you think, laugh, cry, smile. <br>
It is someones opinion, a peep into someones mind, a story told in a
song for people who cant sing (lol:p) <br>
<br>
Lol that's just my strange little opinion! XD
answers3: It really depends onw hat tipe of poetry because if is a
love poem, what you are saying has to come from your heart and you
should be able to get your point threw by only saying it
answers4: complicated point. seek with yahoo and bing. just that could help!
answers5: FOR ME, poetry is ANYTHING that comes from the heart and
writing down. poetry doesnt have to rhyme or anything like that. Its
just purely anything you are feeling inside writen down in words, the
one thing to rememeber is, I THINK that really good poetry has to come
from the heart NOT the head. <br>
<br>
EDIT--- THE RESPONDER BELOW, (henry) is wrong, poetry does not need
any meter or rythem what so ever, there is a type of poetry called
''free verse'' and this type has no strict meter or ryhme or rythem..
people should look more into poetry before thinking they know it
all... GOOD LOOK anyway. x
answers6: Beautiful! Wow, there's a war in the poetry section? I am a
bit amazed! I could understand if it was R&S with all the heated
opinions & baiting questions, but what is there to do battle over in
poetry? Surely I miss something here. I hope I never become so jaded
that a kind word or lending my support becomes just too much to ask of
me! Keep writing my friend, the heart must have it's avenue of
expression, no matter what that avenue may be. Many Blessings!
answers7: A shining Beacon of hope for those of that are less than
perfect and feel trapped.
answers8: moving
answers9: hard task. lookup on yahoo. that will help!
answers10: I don't mean to be unkind to your other responders, but
none of these answers makes much sense. Of course, poetry can make us
laugh or cry, but so can a play, an ice cream cone, or a car wreck.
That's not a definition. <br>
<br>
Poetry has two characteristics that separate it from everything else.
First, it is nearly always written in meter, that is, it has a rhythm
to it. In the best poetry, that rhythm is a natural outgrowth of the
words used and doesn't seem forced. <br>
<br>
Second, poetry compacts much meaning into few words, (Epic poetry is
an exception, of course. The Odyssey isn't exactly a few words.)
Creative figurative language is what helps accomplish this. <br>
<br>
By the way, this definition places nursery rhymes and other metered
language that doesn't have fresh, interesting language outside the
definition of poetry. A good word for this is "verse."
Philosophy books for beginners?
answers1: maybe an introduction to philosophy textbook would suffice.
answers2: I would recommend The Apology by Plato. It is short, and
very surprisingly (to me) accessible, understandable. It shows you
that philosophy, even the ancients like Socrates, were just people
talking, like you and I might today at a Starbucks. And the issues
then were the same issues now.
answers3: Brian Magee's book is very good.
answers4: https://www.thereadinglists.com/best-philosophy-books-for-beginners/
answers5: Read 'The Great Conversation' by Norman Melchert (secular)
or 'Thales to Dewey' by Gordon Clark (Christian). <br>
<br>
People say to just jump right in to the writings of the greats, but if
you don't have some background to the context of the writings, you may
get lost. It is better, I think, to read at least one history of
philosophy book. They practically all give you background to the
writers' lives and the world they lived in when they wrote. This helps
you to understand why they said what they said. <br>
<br>
I hope you enjoy the subject.
answers6: John Locke - Two Treatises of Government <br>
Plato's Republic <br>
Plato's 5 Dialogues <br>
Descartes Discourse on the Method and Meditations <br>
<br>
Those I think are a great start to philosophy. Plato is a little dense
for new comers but these books really give you the essence to
philosophy
answers7: "The Slightest Philosophy" by Dr. Quee Nelson; <br>
"Ontology Made Easy" by Dr. Amie Thomasson; <br>
"Philosophy for Dummies" by Dr. Tom Morris; <br>
"The Philosophers: Their Lives and the Nature of Their Thought" by
Dr. Ben-Ami-Scharfstein; <br>
"A Comparative History of World Philosophy" by Scharfstein; <br>
"Introduction to Philosophy: Classical and Contemporary Readings,"
Dr. Louis Pojman; <br>
"Intellectuals," Paul Johnson; <br>
"Return to the One: Plotinus's Guide to God-Realization," Dr. Brian Hines; <br>
"A Philosophy of Universality," Omraam Aivanhov; <br>
"Purity of Heart Is to Will One Thing," Soren Kierkegaard; <br>
"The Path of the Higher Self."
Careers in Philosophy?
answers1: Yes, there is only one career you can have in philosophy and
that is to be a philosophy professor. <br>
Also, you can become a 'philosopher' and write/publish your own books.
But this is not really a career.
answers2: i suggest you do a hybrid major. if you seem to have unique
talent in undergraduate school and grad school then you can think
about being a philosophy professor. <br>
<br>
ideas: <br>
<br>
philosophy - law <br>
philosophy- psychology <br>
philosophy- public policy <br>
or <br>
like me <br>
<br>
philosophy and chemistry ....or the ULTIMATE (if i oculd go back in
time: PHILOSOPHY -PHYSICS) I am telling you you could rule the world!
answers3: Teaching would be the most likely career for you to go into
with that kind of study. Some people use Philosophy as a precursor to
Law school. Your study of Ethics, Morality, and Epistemology would be
good prep for law school, but Metaphysics doesn't prepare you for
anything job wise, unless you want to teach. If neither Law nor
Teaching sound good to you there is another door a degree in
Philosophy can open for you...you might as well practice saying it now
: "Would you like fries with your super size number 3?"
Who are the...(philosophy)?
answers1: Analytic Phil is one of my favorite things about this planet! <br>
<br>
Lets see... <br>
<br>
It probably began with Gottlob Frege, a mathematician who got curious
about the "Foundations of Arithmetic". From there, a lot of other
people got interested, most notably Bertard Russell and Ludwig
Wittgenstein. Analytic phil was largely formed by a group called the
"Vienna Circle", which was a bunch of people who hung out in coffee
shops in Vienna in the 1920s talking about language and philosophy.
<br>
<br>
Other people: Ayer, Carnap, Whitehead, Quine, Kripke. All are, to
some extent, my heroes. <br>
<br>
About phil mind: Just about every philosopher has touched on phil
mind at some point-- it is a topic, whereas analytic philosophy is
more of a method of doing philosophy. <br>
<br>
<br>
Hoped that helped.
PHILOSOPHY-----"What are the subtheories in philosophy..,,and describe"?
answers1: the theory is that you learn to use the language more
proficiently <br>
<br>
eg - so you make sense
answers2: You can learn the importance of philosophy from this site
called the Importance of Philosophy. Actually, it has one of my
favorite quotes about the importance: <br>
"Metaphysics is the foundation of philosophy. Without an explanation
or an interpretation of the world around us, we would be helpless to
deal with reality. We could not feed ourselves, or act to preserve our
lives. The degree to which our metaphysical worldview is correct is
the degree to which we are able to comprehend the world, and act
accordingly. Without this firm foundation, all knowledge becomes
suspect. Any flaw in our view of reality will make it more difficult
to live." <a href="http://www.importanceofphilosophy.com/"
Philosophy of Mind <br>
