Romeo Tinnea: Most people are honest hard working taxpayers out in this hard cold cruel world that we are all living in at this time in our lives and we do pay our share of the taxes.Hope that you find the above enclosed information useful. 12/24/2013
Gladys Worthing: Most people pay some sort of tax. If you're talking about federl income tax, close to half of people either don't make enough, or have deductions and credits that wipe out what the owe.
Curt Broadhead: Most people pay property taxes, social security and medicare and some pay state sales taxes. Pretty much everyone pays taxes like vehicle license taxes.Where the issue comes is income tax. The lowest paid people don't even need to file and people living on nothing but social security won't need to file. Lowest paid people actually are paid to work so negative tax called EITC. So say a single parent making 20K a year might get a huge check after withholding no federal income tax. This is a welfare ! program that angers some taxpayers. It is designed so people who can work but might not see the advantage to paying daycare and working when they could stay on welfare. A parent earning 20K when they have a baby will earn raises and the child outgrow daycare so soon they will be taxpayers so it really helps them get on their feet. Some are handicapped so living on SSI or with parents or children not earning anything. We who pay taxes are the better off than those on welfare or EITC or just low paid workers or living in poverty in old age. Sometimes the able have to pay more so the unable can get by,I am thankful to have been able to work the last 40 years and make decent money the last 30 so paying taxes and supporting myself but I don't begrudge those with harder lives....Show more
Will Camus: Most people do. But a large percentage of the US is on welfare, and that is not taxed.
Mandy Mustaro: Totally false statement.1) most people DO pay income taxes2) 99.99! 9% if people pay SOME sort or taxes....end of story!
Pas! ty Cobbett: because they call them freeloaders
Jimmie Doerfler: Most people do pay taxes from a strictly numerical perspective. It just looks that way since tax scandals and the like tend to come up on the news rather frequently.
Derrick Cacioppo: I wonder what you mean by 'most' peoplethere are those who have so little income and large enough families they possibly pay no income tax, if they buy anything other than food they are paying sales taxes, the no doubt have some kind of telephone, there are taxes that are not income taxes, if they have a vehicle they are paying taxes on every gallon of gas
Luke Creitz: Everyone pays taxes in one form or another.
Stanton Degregorio: Almost everyone does pay taxes. What you probably heard was that approximately 47% (which is less than half, not most) don't pay income taxes, because they don't make enough money to have to pay income tax, but even they do pay other taxes.
