A book on philosophy?

Cletus Crotts: Bertrand Russell's "A History Of Western Philosophy" is a good place to start.http://www.amiright.com/photoshops/s/shakiraalbum_.......Show more

Francisco Schonhardt: Check these out.http://plato.stanford.edu/http://www.iep.utm.edu/

Valentine Willinger: The most interesting one I have read is "Sophie's World". By Gaardner (sp?)It includes the history of philosophy but is a novel as well so that it stays interesting. It has been VERY valuable in my philosophy class this year.

Pattie Vold: Never forget to round out your "education" by looking into Eastern Philosophy. Often courses will overlook this. They (it) are quite "different", in content and approach, from their Western relative(s). And according to some insightful people, "superior in theory and effect", to Western :))

Joie Kemmis: http://books.google.com/books?q=philosophy&btnG=Se...http://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&lr=&newwin...

Gabriel Realmuto: I majored in! Philosophy in college...honestly...you're not going to be able to find a book that will give you a general philisophical view about all the major philosophers. The book would be TOOOOO long. In addition, it's going to depend on what kinds of Philosophy you're planning on going into. I was an Ethics and Public Policy concentration rather than a general Philosophy major. Most of the authors I read were modern day philosophers and the issues addressed were more current issues. (euthanasia, abortion, etc.) I would maybe go to the library and take a look in the philosophy section...take a look at all the different books and maybe browse over some of them to see. I started out as an Econ Major and took one Philosophy class for fun in my freshman year and it really worked for me. There are some people that take philosophy and they're totally confused by what they are taught...really depends on the person. I was great at ethics and public policy and coming up with argument! s and such for this but horrible at logic classes.......Show m! ore
