What are the best colleges for theater?

Autumn Vacio: For theater or for acting? Any college or university which has an acting production program (4-6 major productions a year, student one act plays , and a summer theatre) will be a good place to study. The school doesn't matter as much as the student. You will get out of it, what you put into it, so where you go is not so significant. I would avoid the huge schools like UCLA where you could get lost in the crowd. Read my profile for more information you may want to read my free ebook, The Tao of Acting....Show more

Malcom Bourek: First off to Arron, it is spelled Juilliard and it they only accept 18 students. It is strictly drama and no musical theater. (You could learn a lot from Theater Doc btw)To Jose' I saw you asked about dance in another question and my recommendation would be NYU Tisch. They have a great musical theater department. They could boast an alumni in every show on Broadway just recently. Don't know if it is true now, but you get the! idea....Show more

Esteban Lyson: Don't listen to that old bafoon theater doc. You should go to Julliard the biggest and most popular performing arts school in the nation.
