Are the new "ethanol" vehicles really worth it?

Stan Conley: not really. the damage is done.

Darwin Ecton: If you live in a corn rich area where ethanol is common it saves you a few cents at the pump but right now they are not economically viable compared to gasoline powered cars. There is some question as to whether we could ever produce enough corn to meet our fuel needs. There needs to be more diversity, more models, and better supply in alternative fuels before the consumer sees any worthwhile difference.

Donovan Stallons: I was reading an article on home made ethanol. (I don't remember where it was, but I'm sure that if you do some research, you'll find something.

Lue Podewils: No. I've had a truck that can run on ethanol since 2000. Still no where to fill up near me!

Beau Starcevic: When they start building more stations that offer it, then definitely, they will be worth it. They're not yet, but they will be. Our closest station is about an hour away, though. But corn is a renewabl! e resource, so it is better than using fossil fuels.

Cliff Tyre: no after some changes in the engine fire chamber... sorry my english

Myron Leftwich: The ethanol 85 cars will be worth it. Even though the price of corn has gone up a lot and ethanol 85 will end up costing as much as the current price of gas, the US will not have to depend on the Middle East for oil. The first E-85 vehicles will not be that great, but once they learn more about the cars the quality will increase extremely fast, and that will be soon.

Vida Miss: They will be eventually.
