Dorethea Beaston: Never changed? That would have to be the BS part.
Hans Sachetti: My life wouldn't be as interesting with out the bad guys and bad circumstances i've had to deal with. as interesting as it may seem in retrospect it has hindered me but I don't think I would trade it for a normal boring life.
Rashad Marecki: The modern concept of marriage has always been the union of a man and a woman. With the Gay movement is has changed completely.
Thomas Riner: Someone obviously hasn't read Matthew 23. Go ahead and put your church ahead of Christ, but read the scripture below and be aware of the truth, and that truth holds you responsible...responsible to Christ, or to the RCC...decideMat 23:1 Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples, Mat 23:2 saying: "The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the chair of Moses; Mat 23:3 therefore all that they tell you, do and observe, but do not do according to their deeds; for they say t! hings and do not do them. Derrick Smsith: marriage is a pretty new concept and not biblical whatsoever
Cliff Tyre: Nope, marriage as we now know it is a pretty knew concept. It used to be a father trading his daughter and some goods to a new man f! or political and social connections. Why do you think the fath! er "gives" the bride away at modern weddings?
Danyell Rowback: In the Bible it is a man and a women and always should be that way24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. 25And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamedGenesis 2:24-25...Show more

Does every great story need a villain, lest it get boring? And do you feel that it usually isn't the same bad man, but rather an interesting string of troublesome folks, like you as the hero are being handed off to the next one and the next one as the years run along?
Isreal Kochheiser: The true church is a spiritual one--not a denominational one.
Oda Mauson: Yes, good needs evil to balance it out, which reminds me there has to be a neutral observer somewhere in the story. (it doesnt have to be a god thou! gh)
King Bringle: The libs said man to man marriage is ok, who cares how big the hole.
Jestine Osumi: The early church was catholic (= universal), not Catholic. It became Roman Catholic after the 11th century schism. The centre of the thriving medieval church was not Rome, but Constantinople.
Damaris Weiler: Which faith's liturgy are you talking about?
Tyler Burkman: Bad guys and Good guys. It don't make much difference. They are all my own reflections - coming and going while I stay very, very still.Kuma
Catheryn Barringer: OF COURSE the Catholic Church was the original one! Read the Church Fathers....they ALL believed in the Real Presence of the Eucharist....no-one called it symbolic until John Calvin! Even Martin Luther himself claimed that it was the devil who caused people to interpret this IS my Body to mean this represents my body! John Calvin disagreed with Luther on this. The TERM Catholic did not come about till a few centuries l! ater but the term catholic (small c) was used for Universal because the! Church had spread so much! The term Catholic did come later still because ALL Christians back then held Catholic beliefs so no-one needed a title beyond Christian. Only when mere men started naming churches after themselves did denominations start: LUTHERanism; CALVINism; WESLEYan (Methodist) AMish (from Ammon) and MENNONites (Menno Simon). All other churches are simply break-aways of break-aways of......

Mikel Bethay: The church of Christ which he started is still aliveand doing well,,,it,s a spiritual church,,and we belong tothis church by the spirit of God.
Nestor Klan: The true church is a spiritual one--not a denominational oneand exactly where do you find that in script! ure
Hunter Beech: You are right. The Church of Christ is the church of the New Testament. Not reformed, not changed in any way. But poured into the pattern of the apostles that was set down in truth and example in the first century.
Ismael Sixon: marriage was redefined when interracial marriage was acceptedit was also redefined in 342AD when the Romans Christians banned same-sex marriageThe definition of marriage changes either according to need or bigotry like many bigots claim it's only to make babies and they ignore love
Lawana Neemann: To quote Ben Stiller in "Zero Effect"...:"There aren't 'evil guys' and 'innocent guys'; there's just...a bunch of guys!"
Chris Rosenkranz: What do you mean? Protestants have changed every part of it.
Dalila Yoon: wasnt marriage redefined when the interracial marriage ban was deemed unconstitutional?
An Trebil: The catholic church is not the original church. There is no mention of a pope in the Bible! . The Catholic church does not preach the gospel the apostles preached.! Why not? Do you think God changed his mind about how to be saved? Or do you think the apostles were wrong and philosophers who came hundreds of years later were right? The church I attend preaches the same gospel Peter preched. Why doen't yours? The gospel according to the apostles (and Peter is preaching here) is that Jesus is both LORD (Jehovah, ie God) and Christ (the man promised to redeem us.) He lived a sinless life, died a sacrificial death on the cross, rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and was glorified and is pouring out the Spirit. The apostle Peter preaced the first gospel message on the day of Pentecost. When the people were convicted and asked what to do Peter said repent, be baptised in Jesus name, and recieve the Holy Ghost.Acts 214But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: 15For these are not drunken, as ye suppose! , seeing it is but the third hour of the day. 16But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; 17And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: 18And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:36Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. 37Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, eve! n as many as the LORD our God shall call. 40And with many other words d! id he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. 41Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. 42And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. Now you see that they repented, got baptised in Jesus name, and recieved the Holy Ghost. But they didn't stop there. They went to church regularly, fellowshiped with other believers, and prayed. If you'll do these things then you'll be happier and you'll start living a more holy life. The Catholic claim to "Apostolic succession" is nonsense. The RC church does not have an unbroken line of Apostles going back to Christ. Study Roman Catholic history. This so called line has been broken several times. More than once there have been plural individuals all at once claiming to be the "True Pope" At one time there were 5 popes all at once, all fighting each other! and excommunicating each other. The councils booted them all and put in a new guy. Some popes by their own writings declared themselves to be God himself! Some popes were very corrupt, known for their many lovers and for the orgies held in the papal palace. One pope was strangled by his lover, who then placed her son on the Papal Throne. Roman Catholicism teaches Peter to be the first pope, but we find just the opposite. Compare Peter to the Roman Pontiff. The Roman Pontiff for centuries has been carried around on a golden throne and people bow to him and prostrate themselves before him to this day. On the contrary, a man tried to kneel before Peter and Peter yanked him up and forbid him to kneel before a mere man. But what did the apostle Peter do?Act 10:25 And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshipped him. Act 10:26 But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man....Show more
Caryl Mclaen: The catholic ch! urch is not the original churchIt sure wasnt the one you attend
S! eason Confalone: No. Marriage has changed in definition at the behest of the government or "moral majority" many times. In pre-christian times it simply meant setting up house with the person you chose.
Myron Leftwich: The definition of marriage and its implementation has never been stagnant. If we were to look just to the Bible we would see a ton of different types of marriages. Here are just a few examples:1) Polygamy: This was a very common practice both for biblical characters and from a historic viewpoint. Jacob is a very famous polygamist as he was tricked by his father in law into marrying one of his wives and as his twelve sons would become famous as the "twelve tribes".2) Women as chattel: This idea goes along with polygamy to some extent. Women were the equivalent of property, passed legally from a father (or other male relative if dad was deceased) to husband. In legal terms this placed women on the same level as a cow or a rake or any other object. Again, ! in the story of Jacob we see Jacob come to an agreement with the father of the woman he loves and than paying for the right to marry her through seven years of labor.3) Women as baby machines: It was also not uncommon for women to provide their husbands with a fresh womb (in the form of a servant, usually) when they had reached menopause. For example Sarah provided Abraham with her maid servant so that they might have a child.Even if we were just to look at modern forms of marriage (just since Christianity arrived) we would find many many differences from what is thought of today as traditional marriage.1) Women were treated as property and given no say in who they married. In cases where marriage was of great political importance neither side would have a say. Parents would often agree to have their children marry each other when they were still just infants. This was used to unite land, seal a contract or cement an alliance.2) Marrying your very close relative was expecte! d, especially when it came to royalty. Keeping the bloodline pure often! led to cases where first cousins would marry each other generation after generation.3) Very young girls would be married to much older gentleman. This was often because men would not want to get married until they had either established their fortune through career or gained their inheritance through their father's death.4) It was illegal for blacks to marry, it was illegal for blacks to marry whites, women could not inherit property from their husbands, etc. There are even more examples than I have listed here, but I think you still get the point. Marriage has NEVER had just one definition and anyone who says otherwise is either ignoring history or lying....Show more
Dawn Saha: The moral of my life story has been to zig while the bad guys zag.
Chris Coggins: I don't mean to be contentious, so I hope you will not hate me if I answer your quasi question. There are at least as many verses in the New Testament that indicate the church was already on the verge of a! postasy before the apostles were killed. Matt 28 indicates Christ will be with us until the end of the world - this is clearly spiritually speaking, since he is not actually here. If the "you" he was refering to were the members of the church, many soon to be martyred, then he would be with them in death, if not life. The other scripture - Matt 16 - may have a much different definition than what you have provided. The "Gates of Hell" is not a reference to Satan and his angels, but to death. Death will not prevail, because of the resurrection. This seems to be another allusion to martyrdom. Another scripture states the "day will not come, save there be a falling away first", refering to the return of Christ. The letters of Paul were constantly trying to call the saints to repentance, and warning them of the false doctrines which were already being taught. When Paul died, what stopped "damnable heresies" from entering in? The answer is obvious - nothing. What did the e! arly saints call themselves? Christians, although their enemies may hav! e called them that first.
Sook Hershkowitz: Yes its would be better without the bad guys don't you think with more time to enjoy the beauty in the world and the good things in it.
Roosevelt Pendill: Marriage has had the same definition since Adam and Eve. God married those two himself at some point in the placement of them in the Garden.
Ramon Dahlheimer: "And the Lord God said, 'It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him'" (Gen. 2:18)."Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said:'This is now bone of my boneAnd flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.' Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh." (Gen. 2:22-24)Adam received his wife as a gift from God. In a sense it is still true that a man receives his wife from God. Solomon says: "Houses! and riches are an inheritance from fathers, But a prudent wife is from the Lord" (Proverbs 19:14). We also see that marriage is good. Solomon says in another place: "He who finds a wife finds a good thing,And obtains favour from the Lord" (Proverbs 18:22). We also see how strong the marriage bond is, so strong that they are no longer two but are melted together as one flesh. This bond is so strong that it is broken only by death. As long as they live they are one together. They may not separate. Jesus quoted this passage when He was asked about marriage:"The Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him, 'Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?' And He answered and said to them, 'Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning "made them male and female," and said, "For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh"? So then, they are no longer two but one fles! h. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.' They ! said to Him, 'Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?' He said to them, 'Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery'" (Mat. 19:3-9). In this passage in Genesis we also see how dependent man and woman are on each other. They need each other. Paul says:"Nevertheless, neither is man independent of woman, nor woman independent of man, in the Lord. For as the woman was from the man, even so the man also is through the woman; but all things are from God" (1 Cor. 11:11,12). Marriage is an institution of God and is a continuation of His work of creation. Sexual desires are God-given. We should view our manliness or womanliness as a gift from God which we receive with thankfulness and strive to k! eep holy and pure in accordance with His instructions. Matrimony: The Sacrament of Matrimony is the Sacrament which unites a man and woman in lawful marriage.Biblical references: Matt 19:5; Mark 10:7-12; Eph 5:22-32; 1 Thess 4:4; Mal 2:14-16;Matt 5:32-33; Matt 19:4-6,9; Mark 10:11-12; Lk 16:18; Rom 7:2-3; 1 Cor 7:10-11...Show more

Kaley Lappas: No. For much of history marriage was about joining two families, property transfer, and producing legal heirs. Marriages were often arranged. Wives were treated more as property. Husbands would often have other relationships outside of their marriages. The idea of romantic love in marriages really wasn't popularized until the 12th century. Has the definition of marriage always included one man, one woman. Well, no. Polygamy is a major part of many cultures. In fact, even in the Old Testament, Abraham, Jacob, Solomon, and David were polygamists. Basically, the idea that the definition has never changed or that Christians made it up in the ! first place is a silly one....Show more
Rivka Killmer: the eucharist of the catholic mass
Rosalyn Olivera: The Church Jesus Christ established was never a denominational one and, by extension, most certainly was not Catholic.!! It was simply His church. The one true church! He said "Upon this rock I will build my Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Notice He said "my church". Not catholic, anglican, protestant, muslim, hindu, buddhist, episcopalian - nothing of the sort!!The gates of hell have been making extreme efforts over time to extinguish Christ's church and, despite all of its little hits here and there, the Church stands triumphantly and shall continue to stand until His return.Always remember this - Jesus was a Jew, the King of the Jews. He did not deny being called that. Yet, He did not call His church a Jewish church. All through time, mankind has been tampering with Christ's church and trying to fit their 'little' ideas ! into what only God can define. It has never worked, it is not working ! and it shall never work.
Dedra Furguson: The Bible teaches that the visible Church of Christ has had and will ever have uninterrupted existence. Matt. 28, 19-20: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost . . . lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.Matt. 16-18: . . . and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Hence the theory that Christ's Church, which began with Christ, failed - became non-existent for 1000 or more years - and then was revived by either Luther, Calvin, Knox or some other man or woman, is ridiculous and untrue. If the statment was true in reguards to protestanism what were the names of Christs church other than the Catholic Chuch the first Christians attended and what were their beliefs since the first mention of them was with Martin Luther in the 1500's...Show more
