Truman Biby: People used to hang laundry between buildings back in the day, but most cities have ordinances prohibiting that now. Plus, most people have dryers now and don't use clothes lines very much.So....yes, people really used to do that, but you rarely see that now in the United States.
Omar Phipps: Not between sky scrappers but between houses they do. In Venice Italy I saw this. Each family have their own line and usually know one another real well.
Arlen Hamper: Not in large cities like NYC, no! Kotter was in the Bronx. Such lines are generally installed by someone, on a pulley system, and as such is their property...they aren't communal. Most people just use dryers.
Bethanie Menden: In Shanghai some Chinese people do :)
