Mitsuko Manne: Obesity is a condition or a state, not a disease. It can be brought on by disease,( ie thyroiditis) but it is not a disease in and of itself.
Corey Rohleder: Although the topic of obesity is very complicated, it is definitely not a disease.The issue is how responsible obese people are for their weight. Although one could argue that everybody has the option to exercise and eat healthy, your body rewards you when you consume sweet things or eat. It's an evolutionary trait that would allow you to identify which foods are good for your body to turn them into energy. Thomas Riner: You cause it yourself from overeating unless it is caused by a illness or pills such as the birth pill,, being overweight leads to many di leads to diseases like heart attacks.
Annabell Bevier: The American Heart Association officially recognizes it as a disease not very long ago because! they believe it may drive doctors to take it more seriously but there's a lot of controversy and opinions on if it is a disease or not.
