Cherry Stampka: The good news is that your XR160 has a 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo audio input.There is no single best mic... We don't know what you plan to use it for.If you mean a "handheld mic" like a cardioid or dynamic mic, then something like the Audio Technica ATR1300 is fine.Or you can opt for a stereo mic like the Audio Technica ATR6250. This can double as a "handheld mic" assuming you are speaking into it - not singing.In either case, if the audio gets loud, be sure to use the "MicRefLevel" setting to attenuate the loud audio.Good mics usually use XLR connectors - not the 1/8" connectors. In order to use the good XLR mics, you need an XLR adapter like those from juicedLink or BeachTek and they don't fit in your budget.
