teaching english abroad?

Buster Buchko: It depends on your personality. Some people love it, some people don't. When you teach people at lower levels of English, a lot of your lessons will be peppered with fun (and educational) games and activities which creates a really good atmosphere in class. With more advanced level students (College/Uni level and some highschool) you can get into more intriguing topics and discussions, as well as make more jokes that aren't kiddish. :).

Rona Ising: Well personally absolutely love it! However, I have come from a teaching and coaching background. I am currently teaching in Lisbon, Portugal but this is my first full-time teaching post in this capacity, apart from summer schools.Generally as long as you have good classroom management they will speak in English. I teach in a private language school thus only students who want to learn attend so it is not a problem. As for backgrounds; what I found is it is not a regional thing more a personal thing. Summer! Camps are interesting as it is the biggest educational mix you will see.I actually wrote a blog post a few days explaining why I love EFL teaching if you want read it -http://thenewcarly.wordpress.com/2014/05/13/12-rea... -You might have to copy the link though as the direct link doesn't seem to always work.If you want any more information you are very welcome to email me as I am very happy to help how I can - sportycarlyb@hotmail.com....Show more
