Some offer excellent cariculium but others offer only the bare minimum academic standards, not preparing their students for college or jobs. Some parents are skilled at home-schooling, but others are not. Just wanting to do something does not give you the skills or intelligence to teach or home-school. I had a neighbor who pretended to home-school, but mostly let her kids play all day. She didn't bother to buy all the materials needed to actually teach her kids.Neither private schools or home-schoolers are tested to be sure they are being given minimal academic skills.
